Mission The Bootheel Riders is a nonprofit organization that strives to help meet the needs of the communities throughout the bootheel area through special fund-raisers and events. History Bootheel Riders began in Portageville, Missouri when Stan Partin and Mike Jones originally talked about starting a club, due to the large number of bikes in the community and the desire of many of the riders to get together and ride. Many of the Portageville civic organizations were in rapid decline, so the Bootheel Riders decided to pick up where the Kiwanis and PCBT left off. The Riders have taken on many things that the other clubs used to do, while expanding their reach to surrounding communities. Known for riding and having fun, the Riders have amassed over 40 members. Now in their 3rd year, the Riders intend to add to their list of accomplishments:
Annual Events Spring: Bootheel Riders Springfest Motorcycle and Car show. Summer: Riding every weekend (weather permitting), plus the Annual Summer Vacation ride! Fall: Turkey shoot and the Annual meeting - Officer elections. 2008 Officers
Accolades April, 2007: To The Members of the Bootheel Riders, Thank you so much for your generosity to the students at Portageville Middle School! Through your efforts, several students now have glasses and smiles on their faces! We also appreciate your donation of school supplies each year. We also commend you for donating to St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis in addition to helping our school. Our community is so fortunate to have such caring dedicated individuals willing to help others. It takes special people to have such kind spirits and that is exactly what all of you are - special. I am honored to know you and admire your organization! Respectfully, |
